GEODE Spring Seminar 2023
We are greatly looking forward to hosting our GEODE Spring Seminar on 9-10 May 2023 in Brussels.
DSOs are the cornerstone of the energy transition. The transformation of distribution networks – both in electricity and gas – will be crucial to achieving the EU’s climate and energy security objectives. In light of an unprecedented energy crisis, the Commission of the Green Deal is finalizing its landmark Fit for 55 package and discussing impactful gas and electricity market reforms.
Taking this into account, GEODE will host on the 10 May a debate on the role and the key contribution of distribution system operators in this transition. The latter will be crucial to delivering the shift in the energy system as DSOs are at the core of the integration of renewable energy installations and other distributed energy resources (DERs) – while enabling active consumers and market services. DSOs will also be instrumental in the massive scale up of hydrogen and biomethane set out by the REPowerEU strategy
Beyond discussing these elements, our GEODE Spring Seminar will be an opportunity for GEODE to present its latest work as well as its paper on “The Role of DSOs in the New Energy Context.”
